Linda Johnson being a mum and an inspiring individual

This time on Mums and stories we have another lovely story of an inspiring soul. Meet Linda Johnson, a mum, a working professional and someone who took a brave step to show anyone can help and the gesture can actually make a HUGE difference in someone else’s life.

We had featured a powerful story of a mum who had lost her leg due to a bus accident. Linda was the angel who had gone all out to help the mum and we wanted to know more on this mum too.

So in her words, this is what she has to say. “I hail from amidst the beautiful hill station Ooty. Though I was born in Chennai, my schooling and college were from Ooty. I was a studious girl at school and always a tom boy at home. Having an elder sister who has been my inspiration and I grew as a boy for my parents even until fulfilling all rights as a boy in my Dad’s final burial.

I later graduated B.Com. and then did CA ( Chartered Accountancy) and qualified in 2008 along with an MBA in finance.

Posted fixing the degrees of B.Com., ACA, MBA(Finance) to my name, I started my career in 2009 in Aditya Birla Group and worked as a hard core finance professional and simultaneously trying to give out love to people I meet. I always stood unique in this since generally finance and people gelling doesn’t go really together.

Being a mom for a 4 year old son I do hope that my son has and will learn to help needy and pour love to ones who are in real need of it. “

Talking about the incident where she had helped Hema, the lady who was in pain due to the accident in Bangalore in 2010, Linda says, “It was a flash in myself when I reached out to Hema. I felt a spark internally to go pick her and rush her to a nearby hospital and get herself saved. I should say here that it was at the right time that I could take her to the hospital.

One teaching my parents had thought me was

“if there is a deed to save a life, and in due course you are put to hassle, do not step back and go for it. You will have the satisfaction life long having saved a life”.

I showed my utmost love to her at that moment. I did not know her at all. My hands were just on her chest patting her and comforting that it’s all going to be ok. I got the strength from nowhere. I felt God’s presence in this whole act.

Though I conceived in 2012 for my first child, saving Hema was my first delivery. The urge to reach hospital, the myriad emotions experienced I can never ever obliterate it off my mind.

Yet I feel highly blessed for this deed. The moment I had her on my lap, I felt I should save her and make her feel better.

There is positivity in the world by all means but the challenge is fear to have them implemented in daily life. One is not always been appreciated for being positive and upfront expressing views. Courage is all that is required to get this formulated and brought forward. I AM WHAT I AM…… People should feel the urge to let out positive connotations no matter which one odd person may criticize about.

My parents and my elder sister Nancy Johnson have been my dear ones always. I also love music, singing, playing my guitar that have been my companions since my childhood days.

The best thing about being a mum is giving birth and owning the responsibility of Bringing up a good human being.

I am close to my son but I see him as a human and want him to be an example to it.”

Linda shares an email that she had written to her friends the next day post the unfortunate incident. We at Mums and stories are sharing the email out here with her permission.

My Dear Friends,

Hi and HOW ARE you all doing??????

I am doing good and I want to share an experience that I had yesterday.

Pls spare time and read this. This is your friend LINDA’S HUMBLE REQUEST!!!!! !!!!

Yesterday eve by 7:30 I left office and caught a Volvo bus to my place. The bus stopped in the next stop n started. Just then v all in bus heard a tremendous sound of something breaking and within a sec a girl was screaming like HELL.

I was taken aback n I was dumbstruck.

The driver stopped the bus n v got down n a mob gathered.

In the center there was a beautiful girl whose leg had been struck in the back wheel of the Volvo bus n her left leg beneath the knee was jammed. She was trembling in pain n rolling over the ground looking for help.

There I found so many people gathered but not a single soul to help her. I pushed the mob n went in n held her hands n shouted for help to carry her. None came. Finally after the shout there were few men who came n v carried her n crossed the road n stopped a cab n another stranger girl named Manasa told that she too wud come n v took her to hospital. She was lying on my chest n screaming n suffering in pain.

It was terrible to hear. But still v patted her saying all s fine n everything will go good.

Yet she couldn’t tolerate. Definitely none can tolerate ya. Nothing was beneath her knee. All jammed.

Alas! V reached the hospital n saved the wonderful lovely girl’s life. Her name was HEMA. 26 yrs old. unmarried.

I spoke to her Mom too who was in Kerala. She was bursting into tears. I am unable to explain the actual situation. Hope you MY FRIENDS can imagine how critical it would have been..

FRIENDS PLEASE MY DEAR FRIENDS THIS IS MY HUMBLE REQUEST AND I AM PLEADING YOU ALL TO HELP ANYONE IN SUCH A NEEDY POSITION NO MATTER IN WHAT SITUATION YOU ARE.

ULTIMATELY LIFE IS NOTHING AND WE WONT KNOW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN NEXT SECOND IN OUR LIFE.

I HAVE NOT SENT THIS MAIL FOR FAME AND NAME BUT ONLY TO CONVEY THE MESSAGE N I AM REALLY CONTENT OF HAVING SAVED A LIFE. WANTED TO SHARE THIS FEELING OF MINE WITH MY INTIMATE TITANS.

Nothing else my friends. Now Hema is ok but no guarantee to get her left leg back. At least she got her life back. Her parents are just coming. I don’t know who Hema n Manasa but for sure after this we three are gonna be intimate having known the worth of life.

Thanks for your patience titans.

Have a blessed day.

Love and Regards,

Linda Johnson
