Gopi’s Diaries, Gopi’s Day Out is a new book in the series from HarperCollins Children’s Books, written by author Sudha Murty.
The story begins as a light- hearted and interesting casual read for readers who like reading simple stories or those who love dogs. The story is narrated from the perspective of Gopi, the family dog.The book has ensured it is visually captivating too with suitable illustrations by Suvidha Mistry.
Gopi has got lost one morning before Sawant, his caretaker Shivaji Sawant could take him out for a walk. Gopi, the Golden Retriever is very much considered as a family member and as a pet he gets to experience how would it be to be lost without a home.
Gopi finds that he is raised differently from street dogs and understands various things that he had taken for granger
The book like its other books from the series is for young readers and is written in simple relatable language.
What we did like was how certain points on how many times a Golden Retriever needs walks or why it is important for them to have nutritious food or shelters for dogs, all these are subtly woven into the story.
The book also makes for a great narration and likely to be loved by kids in the age group of 5-9 years of age. It is also makes for an interesting reference that indeed Gopi is a real pet who lives with the author Sudha Murty. This book has been the fourth in the series and marks for another lovable read.
