Visweswaraiah Industrial and Technological Museum Review

Vishweswaraiah Industrial and Technological Museum is a recommended space for kids in the age group of 10 to 15.

It was Christmas holidays and we decided to visit this space as it seemed we had perhaps missed on a museum though it had been in the city from ages.

It indeed was an eye opener. Quite like the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium which is another must- see space in Bangalore with kids, Vishweswaraiah Industrial and Technological Museum is also a good centre for kids who are interested or curious about Science.

The latter teens from 13 to 15 might find it more interesting, relatable to concepts explained in school and enjoy the exhibits better than compared to younger kids.

We had visited the PARSEC Museum too couple of months ago and it was good too. However a major factor that goes in favour of Vishweswaraiah Science Museum is that there is no time limit for a visitor once the ticket is availed. One can spend as much time as they wish to.

Right from Physics, to space to Biology to marvels of engineering ,the museum has enough to keep everyone engaged.

Even if one is not a highly equipped science buff there are exhibits that are interactive and can make kids marvel or wonder on how did this happen.

Mini replicas of automobiles, particularly their parts, gadgets, dams how they generate and regulate water, models of spaceships, concepts of sound, quantum physics, light and so on are well explained.

This could be an hour to three hour visit depending how interested the kids are engaged and willing to explore most of the exhibits. What we found to be super interesting were Mirror mazes, opportunity to be a weather news reader, a larger than life piano which allows visitors to keep foot and play music, exhibits on space technology to name a few.

There are specific movie screenings too at specific timings displayed and it is included in the ticket. Also a pro-tip is to visit the space in the mornings rather than evenings to avoid crowds. Also do check on Government listed holidays before visiting.

If you are wondering where you can go for lunch while you have spent good two hours a the museum, you can opt for a smiple lunch with amazing views at the Museum’s rooftop canteen. You are going to be pleasantly surprised with the amazing views that has UB city and other towering structures nearby.

Mums and Stories surely recommends this museum but do note it is not a space for younger kids as they might find it too technical or be unable to marvel at the concepts explained.

One can book tickets for this museum online or at the ticket counter at the Museum entrance.

Mums and Stories gives it a 4 on 5.
